Iyanya leaves own record label, MMMG to join Mavin Records

Nigerian prolific singer and the Kukere hit crooner Iyanya Onoyom Mbuk better known with his stage name simply as Iyanya has joined Mavins Record label to consolidate his musical career following his recent album, Aplaudise that went for the rocks in a rush.

The move was announced on Monday on social media by both parties; Mavin Record and Iyanya who reportedly left Made Men Music Group , a label he co - owns with his former manager Ubi Franklin after a fall out in managerial agreement between them among all other things some months back.

The singer who announced the move officially on his social media page explained that he's at a critical decision making point in his music career and he has found a good spot in Mavin Records to make that right professional and creative decisions.

"I am at a decision-making curve in my music career where I have to make the right professional and creative decisions. At this point, I realised the need to put in solid structures in place to move to the next level of my career. I think I have found that professional and creative backbone in Mavin Records," Iyanya said.

Similarly, to welcome him to the SMD family Don Jazzy who was proud and elated about the partnership  said the move is an exciting time for the record label and fans have a lot of great music to look forward to.

"The Supreme Mavin Dynasty is pleased to welcome Iyanya to the Mavin family. Please join us to welcome him and let the world know that we are up to something," he said.

"Iyanya brings his own unique style and sound to the Mavin Records family. From the first time I stepped into the studio with him, there was an instant chemistry and energy. He is an amazing talent and he has great musical versatility. This is an exciting time for us and our fans have a lot of great music to look forward to," he added.

Iyanya has since released a song titled 'up to something' and  produced by  Don Jazzy himself under the record label, featuring Dr. Sid and Don Jazzy. The move makes it the first time a Nigerian artist will leave an established label of his own to join another, it has since sparked different kinds of  criticisms from fans. While some commend his move, others feel its a wrong move going by the fact that he has a record label which he co-owns.

In other news, since the fall out between Iyanya and his Manager Ubi Franklin, the singer  has been managed by the Temple Management Company. He had announced the parting of ways between them on social media to join the management company some months back.

"Dear fans, I am pleased to announce that I have now signed on with Temple Management Company. About a year ago, Ubi and I discussed options to diversify our business interests and creative visions and we both agreed that we would explore all avenues open to us.So much has happened since and I have now completed work on my new album which will be released under a new record label," he had said.

"With both @thetemplecompany and the new album, I am now embarking in a direction which will not only bring you the same quality, verve and energy that you have become accustomed to, it will take things to the next level. Ubi remains my brother and we both look forward to this new phase of our careers," he had added.
